Situation:

A large hosting and I.T. Provider was the victim of a sophisticated data breach, which passed through their servers and into many of their client lists. Two of our clients were affected by this breach, ultimately losing data access, security information, and confidential patient files.

Approach:

Both clients fortunately had our Business Associate Agreement signed and on file with them. Our Account Representatives assured them that with this agreement in place, they were free from any financial or legal responsibility due to the breach.

These clients had also been using PCIHIPAA as a secondary data back-up. Fortunately, we were able to successfully restore all their data so they could continue treating their patients and business without a restoration. Other clients who were affected by the I.T. Provider data breach and did not have our resources waited over 2 months for their data to be restored and recovered.
